As a kid on a Tennessee farm, Carrie thought the kitchen was the room you pass through to get outside. But once she left the farm and travelled the world, she woke up to food - not just its deliciousness but as a way to explore history and culture. Weirdest thing she’s eaten: Shirako (fish sperm). Food she could eat everyday: Mediterranean & Japanese (maybe skip the fish sperm). Smell she loves: A musty wine cellar. Favorite midnight snack: Slightly burnt popcorn.
